Ten simple steps to help keep our customers safe and warm in their homes

Gas Safety Week is taking place from the 9th to 15th September and is here to remind the public how to keep themselves gas safe and raise awareness of the dangers of poorly maintained gas appliances, which can cause gas leaks, fires, explosions and carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning.

It is co-ordinated by the Gas Safe Register, an official list of gas engineers who are legally allowed to work on gas. Our engineers are all Gas Safe registered.

The theme for this year’s Gas Safety Week is ‘Checking – Every Check Counts’. As a landlord, we have a legal duty to carry out annual safety checks on any gas appliances in our homes. This helps to make sure that appliances are safe for our customers and their families.

All our homes have been fitted with carbon monoxide alarms to protect our customers from the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Homes Plus prioritises gas safety every week. In Gas Safety Week, we are sharing ten top tips to help keep our customers safe and warm in their homes.
