Alan has extensive senior management experience in the affordable housing sector with a focus on development and regeneration. He led a housing association partnership that developed over £1bn of new housing across the region. He is the former Deputy Chief Executive of a West Midlands based Housing Association with responsibility for the Commercial Directorate.
Alan now runs his own development business, building new housing for the Build to Rent and affordable housing sectors. He also undertakes consultancy work.
As an experienced non-Executive Director, Alan served on the Boards of a regional NHS Trust and Redditch Co-operative Homes. He acted as a housing adviser to the National Trust and held the role of Strategy Officer for the Tenants Association of the National Trust (TANT). He is also the former Chairman of The National Housing Federation Regional Investment Group. Alan has a passion for sustainable housing and is a former Chairman of Energiesprong UK and the Sustainable Housing Action Partnership (SHAP). In 2019, he was awarded an OBE for his services to housing.
Andrew is a qualified accountant and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) with an MBA from Aston Business School.
Until December 2018, Andrew spent 12 years as Director of Finance and Resources for Staffordshire County Council; was Treasurer of the Staffordshire Pension Fund and a former President of the Society of County Treasurers. Andrew was CIPFA President in 2017/18 serving an Institute with over 14,000 members worldwide.
The institute works throughout the public services, in national audit agencies and major accountancy firms, along with other public bodies where public money needs to be effectively and efficiently managed.
As an Associate Director at CIPFA Andrew’s current role is to develop strong links with local and central government, building trust to improve public financial management and governance.
He is also a trustee of the Centre for Public Scrutiny (CfPS) the leading national organisation promoting and supporting excellence in governance and scrutiny across public services. Andrew is passionate about improving outcomes for customers and communities and believes that good quality affordable housing and care should be accessible to all.
Debbie has extensive experience of working in the social housing sector at a senior executive level both in executive and non-executive roles. She is the former CEO of a Midlands housing group, a role she held for 13 years, and has worked as a freelance consultant in the sector. Debbie has also worked with clients in a range of sectors as an executive coach-mentor. She is a professionally qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Housing and has a Masters in Coaching and Mentoring.
Debbie has an established track record of working at Board level and has direct experience of leading operations including asset management/investment, housing services and care and support. She has considerable experience of strategic management/planning, governance, risk management and financial strategy, planning and development.
An experienced non-executive Debbie has served on a number of local and regional bodies including the NHF West Midlands regional committee and is currently Chair of a housing association group with homes primarily in the North West and East of England.
Originally from Liverpool, Kevin began his working life at 14.5 years old. He also served as an Army musician for 6 years, mainly based in Germany, and then employed in the Engineering Department of an Automotive Manufacturer for 10 years, during which time he was awarded a Union Scholarship and studied Economics, Politics, and English literature at Ruskin College, Oxford, as a mature student.
Kevin moved to the West Midlands as a full-time Trade Union Official in 1978, and from 1983, he was employed as Planning Officer at The University of Wolverhampton, until his retirement in 2004.
Kevin emigrated to Canada, returning to the UK in 2013 and from 2016, settled in Telford as a Wrekin tenant. He is the Chair of Wrekin’s Customer Committee.
Jan holds extensive experience within the social housing sector, gained from various Executive Team roles across the country. She has delivered significant transformation projects and has been an Executive Sponsor for domestic abuse, EDI and consumer standards.
Jan is passionate about social housing and has spent her career in the sector as she believes that having a safe and secure home is the foundation for living a life well spent.
Jan is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
