Coronavirus update

Housing Plus Group is a family and the safety and wellbeing of our customers, colleagues and partners continues to be our number one priority.

The guidance around the coronavirus pandemic is changing daily, so we are regularly reviewing advice from the government, NHS and Public Health England and making essential changes to our working practices, policies and services.

We are working hard to maintain essential services to our customers and keep them fully informed on how they can keep themselves and their family safe.

In line with other housing providers and as recently shared by the National Housing Federation, we are offering our customers extensive support and advice during this difficult and uncertain time.

Our customers

Housing Plus Group manages 18,000 homes across Staffordshire and Shropshire.

We are doing things differently at present but we are working together to respond to urgent calls, carry out emergency repairs and keep our customers safe.

Our offices are closed to visitors at this time but we are providing updated information for our customers – including rent and financial advice along with links to other sources of support – through our member websites here:

Older and more vulnerable residents

Care Plus supports more than 2,000 residents in our retirement living communities. We also provide crucial care to older and vulnerable customers in their own homes.

We are at the frontline of efforts to help keep older and vulnerable people safe. Our teams are maintaining these essential services, taking every precaution to prevent infection. Care Plus staff are being supported by colleagues across the Group who have volunteered to provide transport for carers, reassurance calls to customers and more.

We have been very clear about the need to help protect residents in our retirement living communities by halting social events and closing access to communal facilities, other than to access fire doors. Visits now should be for essential reasons such as delivering shopping or medication or to carry out personal planned care.

Where customers do not have family members able to deliver food and medical supplies, we have a network of volunteers able to help them. We are also working to reduce the impact of isolation on these customers, by setting up ‘virtual’ entertainment including extremely popular online singing workshops.

Updated advice for customers is published on the Care Plus website.
