Completion of landmark project in popular Shropshire town
The completion of a landmark project in Shifnal marks another significant milestone for Housing Plus Group, clearly demonstrating our continued focus on making a positive difference to homes, lives and communities across Staffordshire and Shropshire.
Located on the site of a disused pub, Beehive Court has already transformed the appearance of the area and will now help to meet high demand for affordable housing in the Shropshire Market town.
Builders T C Homes began to build the three-bedroomed houses last year and the first residents of Beehive Court will move in during the next few weeks.
Kerry Bolister, director of development at Housing Plus Group, says the project has had a positive impact on the town as the old Beehive pub had stood empty for several years, becoming something of an eyesore and attracting anti-social behaviour.
Built with the backing of local councillors, the new homes have been designed to meet the latest environmental standards. During their construction, the builders worked closely with the community to minimise any disruption while providing opportunities for local sub-contractors and suppliers.
Since the project was first given the green light by the local planning authority, interest in the development has been high, and the six homes for affordable rent and three shared ownership properties have all now been allocated or sold subject to contract.
