Happy 100th birthday Alice!
Celebrations have been taking place to mark a special milestone birthday at one of our retirement living communities.
Alice, who has been living at the scheme in South Staffordshire for 26 years, celebrated turning 100 with her nearest and dearest.
A lively celebration with balloons, banners, afternoon tea and a delicious birthday cake was organised by her family with the help of Retirement Living Officer Sharon Turner.
Alice was thrilled to be surrounded by friends, family and residents who showered her with flowers, presents and cards – including a special message from King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
Alice said the day had been ‘absolutely out of this world’.
The centenarian said: “Nobody could wish for anything more, it’s been beautiful. There’s nothing better than having friends and family together.”
When asked what her secret was for living a long life, Alice added: “Be happy, that’s as far as I know. Life is too short to be miserable, keep going, that’s all you’ve got to do.”
Alice was also treated to a party with a live singer at the scheme the following weekend.
Retirement Living Officer, Sharon, said: “I love celebrating these special moments with residents and it’s been lovely to see everybody here to mark this milestone with Alice.
“All the residents have enjoyed it so much. I’m really proud to be in this job and to have such a happy scheme.”
