Our People and marketing director, Tony Bishop, finds out what it’s like to work in the Voids and Lettings team
At Housing Plus group, we are encouraging all colleagues to take part in experience sessions across the organisation.
It involves spending time with other teams from a different department to gain a greater understanding of the work that they do, the needs of our customers and how we can help make a positive difference.
The sessions can also help support personal and career development.
Our People and marketing director, Tony Bishop, recently took part in an experience session with the Voids and Lettings team.
He met up with Voids and Lettings team leader, Adam, at our Brassey Road office, in Shrewsbury, to gain more of an understanding of the team’s processes before heading out to a Void property for a key collection.
“It’s an area of the organisation that I didn’t fully understand so I wanted to learn about the team so I could understand more about the needs of our customers and how I could help make a positive difference”, Tony explains.
“It was two hours out of my day and was a good opportunity for me to do some bitesize learning and ask any questions.
“I met people from the organisation who I hadn’t met before and if I have any questions in the future, I know who I can go to for help.
“There is such value in shadowing colleagues and learning from them. I’m grateful to the team for showing me more about their roles and I’m pleased that this is something we can offer at Housing Plus Group.”
