Now in its twentieth year, Recycle Week is the nation’s biggest annual celebration of recycling.
The central theme of this year’s campaign is ‘The Big Recycling Hunt’, which promises to shine a bright spotlight on ‘missed capture’. This nationwide hunt aims to engage families in the quest to find 'lost recyclables' that too often find their way into the rubbish bin.
Commonly missed items include empty aerosols, plastic cleaning product bottles, plastic toiletry bottles, plastic posts and tubs and food tins.
At Homes Plus we are committed to making a positive impact in Staffordshire and Shropshire and recycling is a priority. We have dedicated recycling bins in our main offices and we recently shared the news in our annual report that between April 2022 and March 2023, we prevented an incredible 1,944 tonnes of landfill waste!
This Recycle Week we are encouraging our customers and colleagues to help prevent ‘lost recyclables’ from ending up in landfill by using Recycle Now’s handy locator tool.
